PM Kisan 14th Installment: Government Confirms Release Date The central government has officially ended the wait for millions of farmers, announcing the release date for the 14th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana. The government has begun sending out messages to beneficiaries across the country with details of the upcoming fund transfer. ### 14th Installment to be Released on July 27 The Honorable Prime Minister will release the 14th installment of ₹2,000 to eligible farmers on July 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM. The funds will be transferred directly into the bank accounts of 8.5 crore beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The official event for the fund release will take place in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan, where the Prime Minister will initiate the transfer with the click of a button. This comes after a considerable wait since the 13th installment, which was disbursed on February 27 of this year. ### How to Join the Live Event The government is inviting beneficiaries to join the program live via webcast. An official message sent to farmers includes an invitation to participate through the link pm-events.ncog.gov.in. To register for the event, you can visit the official PM Events website. On the site, you can click on the registration link, enter your mobile number, and submit the OTP you receive to complete the process. As of now, 683,277 people have registered to join the live event. ### About the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was implemented in December 2018, with the first installment being released on February 1, 2019. Under this scheme, the central government provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmer families. This amount is paid in three equal installments. The government allocates an estimated annual budget of ₹75,000 crore for this scheme. ### A Potential Increase in Benefits There is an ongoing discussion within the central government about a potential increase in the scheme’s benefits. A proposal is being considered to raise the annual assistance from ₹6,000 to ₹8,000. If approved, this amount would be disbursed in four yearly installments instead of the current three. A final decision on this “masterstroke” is expected to be taken by the central government in November or December, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha general elections.
