How to Register for Yono SBI App: A Step-by-Step Guide

This guide will walk you through the process of first-time registration and login for YONO SBI, the official application from the State Bank of India. Learn how to create your SBI internet banking password and activate your account directly from your mobile phone in minutes.

Getting Started: Downloading the YONO SBI App

To begin, you need to open the Google Play Store on your phone or laptop. In the search bar, type “YONO SBI” and locate the official application. Install the app and then open it. Once opened, you will see a screen that says “YONO SBI For Every Indian.” You must grant the necessary permissions by selecting “Allow” for each prompt that appears.

Initiating the Registration Process

After granting permissions, you will be on the main screen. To start your registration, locate and click on the “Register Now” option. You will be asked to grant permission again; select “Allow” to proceed.

Verifying Your Mobile Number

The application will now ask you to select the SIM card that is linked to your State Bank of India account. If you have two SIMs in your phone, choose the one (SIM 1 or SIM 2) that corresponds to your registered mobile number. If you only have one SIM, it will be selected automatically.

Click “Next.” The app will now automatically verify if the selected mobile number is linked to an SBI account. Once the verification is successful, you can move to the next step. Click “Proceed.”

Choosing Your Registration Method

You will be asked to provide consent. Select “Yes, I Agree” to continue. On the next screen, it is very important to choose the correct registration method to complete the process from home. Select the first option: “Register for Yono with my ATM card.” If you choose the “Register with Account Detail” option, you will be required to visit your bank branch.

Entering Account and Personal Details

After selecting the ATM card registration method, you will need to enter your bank account number and your date of birth in the provided fields. After filling in these details, click “Next.”

OTP Verification

An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP into the app and click “Submit” to continue.

Setting Your Account Rights

The app will ask you to select the level of transaction rights you want for your account. For complete access to all features and services within the app, select the “Full” option and then click “Next.”

Verifying Your ATM Card and PIN

On the next screen, you will be prompted to enter the last six digits of your ATM card number. After entering the digits, click “Next.” You will then need to enter your 4-digit ATM PIN, which is the same PIN you use to withdraw cash from an ATM machine. After entering the PIN, click “Submit.”

Creating Your Internet Banking Username and Password

You can now set up your internet banking credentials. This username and password will be your official SBI Internet Banking login.

  • Username: Create a username between 8 and 20 characters. It must be a combination of English letters, numbers, and at least one special character (like a star or hash).
  • Password: Create a secure password and then enter it again in the “Confirm Password” field to verify.

It is highly recommended to write down this username and password or take a screenshot and save it somewhere safe. Once you have created your credentials, click “Confirm.”

Setting Your MPIN for Quick Login

After successfully creating your password, your account on YONO is activated. The next step is to set an MPIN for quicker access. Click on “Set MPIN.”

Read the consent information, scroll down, tick the checkbox, and click “Next.” You will now be asked to create a 6-digit MPIN. Enter your chosen 6-digit number and then re-enter it to confirm. Click “Next.”

A final OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Enter this OTP to complete the MPIN setup.

Successful Registration and Login

Congratulations! You have successfully registered for YONO SBI. You will receive a confirmation message from the bank. You can now log in to the YONO SBI app using either the 6-digit MPIN you just created or by selecting “Login Using Username” to enter the internet banking username and password you set up earlier. Once logged in, you can access all your account details, services, and other features offered by the app.
