How to Create Your Ayushman Card From Home Using Your Aadhaar Number The Ayushman Card, created under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, provides you with up to ₹5 lakh of free medical treatment. The process to create this card has now been simplified, allowing you to apply directly from your mobile phone using just your Aadhaar card. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process. ### Step 1: Download and Set Up the Ayushman App To begin, you need the official application on your phone. 1. Open the Google Play Store on your mobile device. 2. Search for “Ayushman App”. 3. Install the official app from the National Health Authority. 4. Once installed, open the application. It will take a moment to load. 5. Scroll down and click “Accept” to agree to the terms. ### Step 2: Log In as a Beneficiary After setting up the app, you need to log in to access the services. 1. First, select your preferred language. 2. Next, click on the “Login” button. 3. You will see two options: “Operator” and “Beneficiary”. Select Beneficiary. This option allows the general public to create their own cards. 4. Enter your mobile number and click “Verify”. 5. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number. Enter this OTP. 6. Next, fill in the captcha code shown on the screen and click “Login”. ### Step 3: Search for Your Beneficiary Details Once logged in, you need to find your family’s details in the government’s database. 1. Under the “Scheme” field, select PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana). 2. Select your State. The process is the same for all states as this is a central government scheme. 3. In the “Search By” field, choose Aadhaar Number, as this is the most effective option. 4. Select your District. 5. Enter your Aadhaar number and click the “Search” button. ### Step 4: The e-KYC and Authentication Process After searching, a list of all your family members will appear. 1. You will see the status next to each name. If a card is already made, it will show a “Download Card” option. If a card needs to be made, you will see a red option like “Authenticate” or “Do e-KYC”. 2. Click on the “Authenticate” button for the family member whose card you wish to create. 3. You will be presented with four authentication methods: Aadhaar OTP, Fingerprint, Iris Scan, and Face Authentication. For mobile users without special devices, select Aadhaar OTP. 4. Click “Verify”. A new screen will appear. Tick the consent box and click “Allow”. 5. Two OTPs will be sent. The first OTP will go to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar card. The second OTP will go to the mobile number you used to log into the app. Enter both OTPs in their respective fields. 6. After verification, you will need to re-select the family member and perform the authentication process again. Select Aadhaar OTP, click Verify, and enter the new set of Aadhaar and mobile OTPs that you receive. ### Step 5: Capture a Photo and Submit Your Details After the second authentication is successful, you are just a few steps away from completing the process. 1. The app will prompt you to capture a live photo. Click on the camera icon and take a clear picture of the applicant. The app will automatically match this photo with your Aadhaar photo and show a match percentage. 2. Scroll down and fill in the additional details. If you wish to add a mobile number, select “Yes”, enter the number, and verify it with an OTP. 3. Select your relationship with the family head (e.g., Son, Daughter). 4. Enter your area Pin Code. Your State and District will be pre-filled. 5. Select your Sub-District and Village. Choose “Rural” if you live in a village or “Urban” if you live in a city. 6. Click the “Submit” button. ### After Submission: Checking Status and Downloading Your Card Once you submit the application, you will see a message confirming that your e-KYC is complete and your Ayushman Card will be available for download after some time. Your application status will change from “Authenticate” (Red) to “Pending” (Yellow). After a few hours, and within a maximum of 24 hours, your card will be approved. The status will then change to “Download Card”, appearing in green, just like the other approved members in your family. You can then log back into the app and download your Ayushman Card directly to your phone.
