Address Details
First, select your state to proceed. The form for your state will load. You will then need to fill in your address details:
- District and Sub-District/Tehsil: Select from the dropdown lists.
- Village/Gram Panchayat: If you are a rural resident, select your village.
- Ward/Area: If you are an urban resident, select your ward or area.
- Plot Number and PIN Code: Enter these details.
- Permanent Address: If your present address is the same as your permanent address (the one listed on your Aadhaar card), simply tick the checkbox “Permanent address is same as present address.” The details will be copied over automatically.
- Duration of Stay: Indicate how long you have lived at the current address. You can write “since birth” or enter the number of years.
- Click “Next” to proceed to the next section.
Ration Card and Fair Price Shop (FPS) Details
In this section, you need to provide details about the type of card you need.
- Ration Card Type: Choose the card you wish to apply for, such as AAY (for the poorest families) or BPL (Below Poverty Line).
- Fair Price Shop (FPS): You will be asked for the name and code of your local Fair Price Shop (your government ration shop). This information is usually written on a board at the shop itself. If you do not know these details, you can leave these fields blank.
- Food Grain Combination: Select your preferred combination of food grains (e.g., wheat, rice).
- Click “Next” to continue.
Family Member Details
Here, you must add the details of every member of your family who will be on the ration card. For each member, you will need to provide their name, relationship to the applicant, Aadhaar number, father’s name, and spouse’s name. After adding all members, click “Next”.
Other Information and Required Documents
This is the final section of the form.
- Mandatory Fields: Only fill out the fields marked with a star (*), as these are compulsory. Details like electricity bill or LPG connection numbers are optional.
- Proof Documents: You must upload proof of identity and address. Aadhaar Card can be used for Proof of Identity, Proof of Residence, and Proof of Address.
- Mobile Number: Enter a valid mobile number.
- Bank Account Details: It is important to provide your bank account details, as any government financial aid for BPL cardholders is transferred to this account. Enter the Bank Name, IFSC Code, Account Number, and Account Holder’s Name.
- Click “Save”.
Step 5: Final Submission and Tracking
After you click “Save,” the system will show you a preview of your completed application form.
- Review all the information carefully to ensure there are no mistakes. You can edit the form if needed.
- Once you are sure all details are correct, you must print the acknowledgment slip, sign it, scan or take a photo of it, and upload it back to the portal.
- Finally, click “Final Submit”.
Upon submission, you will be issued a Registration Number. Keep this number safe, as you will need it to track your application status. You can check the progress by going to “Common Registration Facility” and selecting “Registration Status.” Once approved, you can also download your ration card from the portal.
Timeline for Approval
Typically, a new ration card is generated within one month of a successful application. However, it may take up to two months before you can start receiving your ration allocation at your designated Fair Price Shop.
