Eligibility Criteria

- There should be no other LPG connection in her name or in the household.
- She should not be a government employee.
- She should not be a high-income individual who pays income tax.
Required Documents
To complete the application, you will need a few key documents. The primary documents required are for your KYC (Know Your Customer) verification.
- Aadhaar Card: This is a mandatory document.
- Bank Account Passbook: The applicant must have a bank account in her name, as the subsidy amount will be directly deposited into it.
- Passport-Sized Photograph: A recent photograph of the applicant is needed for the form.
- Ration Card: If you have a ration card, you can provide its details. However, it is not a mandatory requirement to apply.

Follow these steps carefully to complete your online application for a new Ujjwala 2.0 connection.
1. Access the Official Portal First, open a web browser on your phone or laptop and search for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana portal. Click on the official link to open the homepage. Here, you can see statistics, such as the total number of connections issued under the scheme.
2. Initiate the Application On the homepage, locate and click on the “Apply for New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection” link. This will take you to the application section.
3. Choose Your Gas Company You will be presented with three LPG provider companies: Indane, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas. You need to select one of these companies to apply for your connection. It is recommended to choose the company whose gas agency is located nearest to your residence. Click on the “Click Here to Apply” button next to your chosen company. The application form for all companies is largely the same.
4. Select Ujjwala Connection Type On the company’s portal, you will be asked to select the connection type. Choose the “Ujjwala” scheme option to avail the benefits. Accept the terms by checking the consent box.
5. Find Your Local Distributor Next, you must select your local gas agency or distributor. You can search for your distributor in two ways: by name or by location. If you don’t know the exact name, select the “Location Wise” option. Choose your state and then your district. A list of all distributors in your district will appear. Select the one that is closest to you and click “Next”.
6. Fill Out the Application Form The main application form will now open. Fill in the following details accurately:
- Personal Details: Enter your Aadhaar number, full name (First, Middle, Last), date of birth, and caste.
- Address Details: Select your location type (Rural or Urban). Provide your complete address, including house/building number, street name, city/town, district, village, and PIN code. Also, enter your mobile number and email ID (if available).
- Bank Account Details: This section is mandatory for receiving the subsidy. Carefully enter your bank’s IFSC code, confirm the IFSC code, provide the bank branch name, your bank account number, and confirm the account number. Ensure the name on the application matches the name in your bank account.
7. Select Connection and Upload Documents Choose the type of cylinder you want (e.g., the standard 14.2 kg cylinder or a smaller 5 kg one). In the proof of address section, select Aadhaar Card and enter your Aadhaar number again.
You will then need to upload scanned copies of your documents:

8. Add Family Member Details The form requires you to add the details of all members of your family. Use the “Add Member” button to add each family member one by one and fill in their required information.

What Happens After You Apply?
Once you submit the form, your application is successfully registered, and a registration number will be generated. It is crucial to take a screenshot or print this page for your records.
Within 7 days, you should receive a call from the gas agency you selected. They will ask you to visit the agency with your registration number to collect your new, filled gas cylinder and stove.
If you do not receive a call within a week, you can contact the agency directly. The contact number for the distributor is usually available on the portal where you selected the agency. Alternatively, you can visit the agency in person with your registration number to inquire about the status of your application.
