Apply for Marriage Certificate Online

You can get your marriage certificate from the comfort of your home. The entire online application process takes only about five minutes. This guide will walk you through the exact steps to apply for your marriage certificate using the official government portal.

Accessing the Official Portal

The first step is to open Google on your phone or laptop. On this official government portal of India, you can apply for various schemes and documents. In the search bar on the portal, you will begin the application process.

Finding the Marriage Certificate Application

In the portal’s search bar, type “Marriage Certificate” and execute the search. This will display links for applying in various states. If you do not see your state on the first page of results, check the second, third, or fourth pages, as links for all states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand are available. Click on the link corresponding to your state.

Starting Your Application

After clicking your state’s link, the official application page will open. Here, you will need to provide some initial details:

  • Select your District from the list.
  • Choose your local governing body, whether it is a Corporation, Municipality, or Gram Panchayat.
  • Once you have made your selections, click “Submit.”

Filling the Memorandum of Marriage Form

The Memorandum of Marriage form will now appear. In the “Registration Unit” field, select “Main Office.” Proceed to fill in your address details, including your street, locality, and city or village.

You will need to upload a joint photograph of the couple (marriage photo) at the top of this form.

Entering Bridegroom and Bride Details

The form requires detailed information for both the groom (Bridegroom) and the bride.

Additional details include his office address, phone number, occupation, email, and educational qualifications. You will also need to upload the groom’s individual photograph here.

Bride’s Information (Vadhu): Next, you will fill in the same set of details for the bride. This includes her full name, parents’ names, address as per her Aadhaar card, and all other personal and contact information as required for the groom. An individual photograph of the bride must also be uploaded in her section. After filling in all the details for both individuals, click the “Forward” button.
